Hello everyone,
We hope you have had another great week.  It's been a very strange week for the weather, some hot, some very wet.  What have you been doing this week?

*Please read updated information on phonics*

Here are some more activities for the  'Goldilocks and the Three Bears'. You can pick as many activities as you feel you can do this week.  The activities will suit all children and cover all areas of the EYFS .
We have attached images above for you to use as examples, below are links to stories, songs and activities, then at the bottom of the blog are any files you might need to download or use to guide the learning.
All of the EYFS teachers have contributed different ideas and so please share with us either by commenting on the blog or sending us an email and then we can celebrate your pictures at the end of the week.

Remember to  watch  phonics everyday by clicking    here.  We have been very pleased with the work we have seen so far. *If you are confident with the sounds that you have been practicing and you can say, read and write them correctly.  Try the 'Special friends' videos for an extra challenge.
9:30am or 12:30pm  - Set 1 (all reception and nursery)
10am or 1pm - Set 2 (most reception)
*we would like those of you who were with Miss Asquith for phonics to also start to watch the word time  and red word videos which are on the Ruth Miskin youtube channel daily.    IF you think you can challenge yourself then give the  'Hold a sentence' video and activities a try.

Also log in to your   Bug Club  to read one of your books.   I have been very impressed with the number of children logging in to Bug Club each week.
Tell us about the books you have been reading.

A big well done to everyone who has been given  a reading certificate this week, some of you are doing a great job and have had a certificate each week!
Keep up the good work, we are very proud of you all.

Remember - if  you are reading a book on Bug Club  you must click on the aliens and do the activity.  If it does not ask you to rate the book with faces at the end then you have missed something in the book.  Mrs Kendall will not know you have read the book unless you do the alien activities.

Star of the week
A big well done to Elliagh for all of their work at home.  Watch the video below to see what special message your teacher has this week.

Our weekly speech, language and communication challenge!

16/6/2020

Hello children!
Your challenge this week is to play a new 'I spy' game with your family.
If you remember, playing this game will help strengthen your vocabulary, memory, attention and listening skills.

There are two activities to play.

1st  Activity
1. Look at the picture and tell your  grown up all the things you can see!
Try to name 10 objects.

2. Listen and Point
Your grown up is going to say the following 'I spy' sentences.
Listen very carefully to the 'special words' (clues) in the sentences.

" I spy with my little eye something that is  ... green, small, wet, tall, hot"
"I spy with my little eye something I can... play with, climb, sit on, ride, kick, wear"
" I spy with my little eye something that is an ... insect, a plant, an animal,
 a fruit, a toy
"

2nd  Activity

Play 'I spy'  when you're outside with your grown up. Try to use  special words (clues)  that describe an object, that tells you what an object can do and what group the object belongs to.
E.g “I spy something that is an animal.”  “I spy something that has wheels.” etc

Remember to take turns and have fun!
