At Crumpsall Lane Primary School our vision for Physical Education is that every child has the opportunity to take part in physical activity on a regular basis and become more physically confident and competent. Through all the sporting opportunities and physical activities we offer, children will develop a love and passion for sport and physical activity and continue this into their adult lives. We aim to provide the children with at least 2 hours of fun, exciting and active PE lessons every week and to keep the children healthy and active, with at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day.
At Crumpsall Lane, we strive to give as many children as possible the opportunity to take part in sports competitions both during school time and also by representing the school at local events. We offer children the opportunity to lead sporting activities, organise games and events and learn to lead by example. By emphasising leadership, we aim for the children to learn the importance of communication, organisation, teamwork, resilience, perseverance and a respect for rules. We also encourage all classes to complete an Active Mile on the days that PE is not taught, thereby encouraging children to be as active as possible during the school day.
We have a year-long plan for inter- and intra competitions and we add to this all the time, as more competitions are announced. Here is what is taking place in the 2022-2023 academic year!
