At Crumpsall Lane Primary School, we recognise the contribution of PE to the health and well-being of the children. We believe that an innovative, varied PE curriculum and extra-curricular opportunities have a positive influence on the concentration, attitude and academic achievement of all our children. Our Primary School Sports Funding will enable us to continue and extend our provision through employing additional sports professionals, entering into more competitive sports competitions and training our staff to deliver in-house quality PE sessions.
What is the PE and Sports Premium? At Crumpsall Lane Primary School we are committed to the Department for Education’s vision for the PE and sport premium funding, ALL pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy, active lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
Purpose of the funding The funding has been provided to achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools. Schools will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
How are we using the funding to benefit our children? Here are some examples of how we are allocating the funding this year: · Hiring qualified sports coaches to work alongside primary teachers when teaching PE. · Extending sports coaching times to provide lunchtime clubs and afterschool clubs. · Covering costs to send subject leader to PE leadership meetings. · Increasing pupils’ participation in the Manchester PE association games. · Transport to competitions. · Replacing equipment and resources where needed.
