Happy Tuesday everyone

Where has the sunshine gone? Today we have planned some more activities that you will be able to enjoy from inside.

Some activities for the day to keep you busy...
So at 9am you can start the day with some exercise with Joe Wicks.  Just click here to get moving.

Please can you all stay up to date with your phonics.  This is super important for your reading and writing.  To watch today's session click here.
9:30am or 12:30pm  - Set 1 (all reception and nursery)
10am or 1pm - Set 2 (most reception)

For today we thought you could try some live animal viewing.  If you would like to  look at the animals in Edinburgh Zoo follow this link  and you can go live to the cameras.  Let us know in the comments below if you spot an animal.

Literacy  - Shark in the Park
Mrs Subachus' favourite nursery book is ‘Shark in the Park’ she said she likes it because it is a rhyming book and because it is about sharks!  If you haven't heard the story before or would like to listen to it again, click   this link for the author Nick Sharratt to read it to you.
Did you get the opportunity to talk to your family about your favourite book in nursery?  Which book did you choose?
Do you remember when we made telescopes in school? Perhaps you could make another one at home and use it to spot rainbows!
What did Timothy Pope spot through his telescope? Can you think of something that rhymes with that word?
Did Timothy Pope find any sharks in the story? Can you tell a grown up?

A colour hunt for maths
What is your favourite colour? Miss Symes's favourite colour is green.
Can you see how many items you can find around your house that are your favourite colour?
How many of these objects are food?
Look below to see all of the objects that Miss Syme  that were green in her home.

I have been counting the number of rainbows that I can see on my road. So far I have counted 5!
Can you beat my number?

So far I haven’t seen any butterflies but I have seen lots of bees!

Some activities for the day to keep you busy...

Our 10 book literacy challenge
Today’s task is to think of one of your favourite stories from school. (Remember our 10 books) Can you remember what is on the front cover? Can you tell a family member what an author and an illustrator do?

Good morning children !
Your challenge this week is to play 'I spy' with your family.
Playing this game will help strengthen  your  vocabulary, memory , attention and listening skills.
There are two activities to play.
1st Activity
1. Look at the picture and tell your  grown up all the things that you can see!
Try to name 10 objects.

Picture
 2.  Listen and point.
Your grown up is going to say the following '
I spy' sentences.
Listen very carefully to the 'special words' (clues) in the sentences.
" I spy with my little eye something that is  ... red, round, big, heavy, soft"
"I spy with my little eye something I can... play with, wear, sleep in, watch, read"
" I spy with my little eye  something that is a ... toy, furniture, wooden"

2nd Activity
Play 'I spy'  around your house. Try to use  special words (clues) that describe an object, tells you what an object can do and what group the object belongs to.
Remember to take turns and have fun!

Welcome to our weekly speech, language and communication challenge!

Your challenge is to do the following mouth movement exercises everyday.
These exercises will make  the muscles around your mouth and face much stronger and help you to say your words clearly.
You need a mirror  so that you can watch yourself doing the exercises.
Try to do each exercise 3 times.
Try to hold that movement   for 5 seconds.

Good morning everyone!!
Here is the link to our Good Morning song!
It has been a very strange week working from home! I have been making sure my son does his work for school; he has also been helping Mr Subachus to paint the fence! How are you and your families?
Please remember to keep in touch with us. You can tell us anything that you may have been doing whilst off. Have you been joining in with Joe Wicks?
Have you managed to do any cooking?
If so, send in some photographs to our email address:
nursery@crumpsall.manchester.sch.uk

Weekend task: Can you make a family Time Capsule?
Each member of your family can put an item into a box. Inside the box you can get a grown up to help you to write your family members names. Also in the box you could write down your favourite television programme, film, song, food. Why did you choose those items? Why did you pick a certain song?
Once your capsule (box) is complete, you can seal it and place it somewhere safe. Then in a number of years (maybe 10) you then take out the capsule and look inside!

Look below for a special message of me and some more super work that has been sent in.  Remember to keep emailing me and your work could feature on the blog next week.
