In order for us to keep your child safe, we follow guidance that is set out in ‘Keeping Children safe in Education.' This guidance states that we all must ensure that we are: • Protecting children from maltreatment • Preventing impairment of children’s mental and physical health or development • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.
All staff at Crumpsall Lane endeavour to ensure the above guidance is followed alongside other statutory documentation such as Working Together to Safeguard Children, What to do if you're worried a child is being abused and The Prevent Duty. We receive statutory safeguarding training as well as regular knowledge updates, in our school-led "Safeguarding Spotlight" sessions.
Our curriculum is designed to challenge our children to think carefully and deeply about safeguarding matters, including their own personal, physical and mental wellbeing. We create space for children to develop their thoughts, ideas and concerns and value their questioning. More information can be found within the "Our Curriculum" tabs or on the "Personal Development" page, within School Information.
Report a concern
All adults in school, including visitors and parents should report safeguarding concerns to one of the following staff:
Mrs Fairclough : Head of School
Mrs Barnes : Family Support Worker

Miss Davies : Assistant Head & EYFS Lead
Mr Hughes : Executive Headteacher
These members of staff are all designated safeguarding leads and have taken part in extensive training to ensure they know what to do when a concern is brought to them. Our priority is to work with parents and families but there may be times when we have to involve other people and agencies.
If you have a safeguarding concern about a child and they are in immediate danger then you must contact the police on 999.
