We can't wait to read your information texts! There have been some amazing examples of ones about elephants, rabbits and pandas so far!

You don't need to use full sentences to write your plan. You can make notes about what you are going to include in each section. Here is Mrs Pearce's example of a plan for an information text about koalas. You can see how the plan uses bullet points to write short notes about the information to include.
Do not write out your information text! We will begin to write it tomorrow. Today you are planning your writing!

Monday 29th  June 2020
For the next few days we are going to be looking at writing our own information texts. Can you remember - are information texts fiction or non-fiction? Today you're going to choose your favourite animal or insect to research  on the internet. You are going to gather information about your favourite animal or insect and you will use this to plan and write your information text this week.

You can use these websites to research your favourite animal or insect.
National Geographic Kids
Animal Fact Guide

Science Kids
Science for Kids

Cool Kid Facts
Here is Mrs Pearce's example.  Mrs Pearce chose to research koalas and collected information about what they look like, where they live, what they eat and some other interesting facts. You can use Mrs Pearce's layout as an example for how to organise your research.

Reminder - Don't just copy the information from the internet! Try to write it in your own words so that it makes sense to you.
