Year 2's Blog...

Half term

22/5/2020

There will be no new home learning activities on the blog from Monday 25th May  until Monday 5th June. School would have been closed for half term during this time.    Everyone has been working hard at home and we all deserve a break to have time to do other activities that we enjoy! Teacher emails will not be replied to until after the two week break.

If you are celebrating Eid this weekend then we hope you have lots of fun celebrating at home. We would love to hear about your Eid after the half term!

Thank you for continuing to  focus on your learning during this difficult time.  We are  very proud of you all!

♥   Mrs Pearce and Miss Edwards   ♥

RE - Eid

Hello  Year 2,
Can I first thank Arush, Sara, Hassan, Fajar, Manahil, Jumaiza and Zaima for sending me their wonderful work  on  'How does praying five times a day help a Muslim to focus?'
This week we are going to discuss the Muslim festival of Eid. Ramadan is nearly coming to an end and it is very exciting  that Eid will be on Saturday or Sunday! Eid marks the end of fasting for Muslims and is usually spent with family and friends and praying at the mosque. This year however , it will be different because of the lock down and families will have to celebrate with their own households, dressing up in new clothes and having delicious food to eat.
Study the power point first then  draw and label what Muslims do to celebrate Eid. Remember to let me know how you get on.

Hello again Year 2,
Last week in PSHE we thought about 'What do I want in a friend?' and labelled a diagram listing the qualities of a good friend.
Thank you to Alberto, Fajar, Arush and Manahil for their wonderful work!
Picture

This week  we are going to make a poster  to show what a good friend is and what a good friend does for you. Have a look at the power point first then design your own poster. Remember to email me any questions and work.  My email is: mrshalim@crumpsall.manchester.sch.uk

A message from Ms Adams

12/5/2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

I'm sure that you all watched the Prime Minister's message last night expecting to be told when your children can return to school.
The date of June 1st was mentioned as a conditional date to return starting with children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.

There was little certainty to the message and the Local Authority will be working with headteachers across the city to unpick whether this is possible.

As soon as a clear message is available we will let you know.

Best wishes and stay safe.

Ms Adams
