Our Weekly Speech, Language and Communication Challenge!

Hello everyone,

This week’s challenge will strengthen your vocabulary, attention and listening skills as well as developing your auditory (listening) memory.

Shopping Game
You will need the following items to play the game.

• Real food – 2 fruits, 2 vegetables, 2 tinned foods, 2 packet foods (crisp & biscuit) etc.
• Toys- teddy, doll, car, ball, book
• Toiletries –toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, sponge
• Shopping bag

 
How to play
 
Ask your grown up to set the items out on a table.  Your grown is going to ask you to buy some items from the shop.  
They will start by asking you to go and buy 2 items.
 Next time you go shopping your grown up will ask you to buy 3 items,
then 4 items and 5 items.
Remember to put your shopping in your bag. Before you take your shopping out, tell your grown up what you have bought.
 
Examples- I need an apple and some crisp (2 items).
                                         I need a doll,, toothpaste and biscuits (3 items).
                                        I need a carrot, teddy ,  banana and some soap (4 items).
                                        I need a ball, book, an apple, toothbrush   and crisp (5 items).

Top tips

• Listen and look for the special words your grown up will say (apple, crisp).
• Say it out loud (I need an apple and some crisps).
• Wait till your grown up has finished speaking before you go shopping.
