For todays task you are going to plan a story using a simple story mountain.

Think about the story of Stone Age Boy. 

What happens at the beginning of the story? 

Beginning-  Stone Age Boy was walking in the woods. He tripped and found himself falling down. Stone Age Boy woke up in a cave, in a place that was unfamiliar. He was lost. 

What happens in the middle of the story?

Middle- Stone Age boy stumbled across a girl called Om. Om introduced Stone Age boy to her family and showed him life during the Stone Age.  Om introduced Stone Age Boy to the cave, revisiting the cave paintings.   ​Stone Age Boy saw something  moving in the  darkness. It was a big, furious  bear. The ground gave way  and Stone Age Boy found himself falling down.

What happens at the end of the story? 
​
End-Stone Age Boy woke up  in the cave and couldn't find Om anywhere. He stumbled back home to his parents  who  thought he had dreamt  everything.   Stone Age Boy never forgot his experience and grew up to be an archeologist.  Was it a dream? Maybe, maybe not. 

​Now can you  write your own story plan thinking about what it would be like for Om if she came to visit Crumpsall Lane Primary school? 

What would  Om see?
How is it strange and different to what she is used to?
Imagine her stepping out of the cave and into the playground. What is there?
Houses rather than forests, sound of cars, planes in the air, etc...

What happens in the beginning  of your story?
Om woke up in school. Om  was lost, she did not know where she was. She walked around and bumped into a boy. His name was Stone Age boy. 

What happens in the middle of your story?
Stone Age boy showed Om around the school and introduced him to his class. The class taught Om all about life in the modern world.  The showed her their books and electronics. Om was amazed!   

What happens at the end of your story?
Om  went back home to her Stone Age family to tell them all about what she had learnt.

I woke up  in  strange looking   cave, which didn't look  like a cave at all! There was colourful  images all over the walls, all different shapes and sizes.  These images  were surrounded by a language which I couldn't understand.  I stood up and walked around, curiously investigating   all the  fascinating objects around the room. Then suddenly I bumped into a short, young boy with big round glasses.    The boy introduced himself as Stone Age Boy,  he kindly welcomed me to "Crumpsall Lane Primary School".   He  took me around this   humongous cave which he called a "building". This building had many rooms, and there were other children running all around me, heading to different rooms to learn with their teachers.   This was all so new and exciting!  I wonder which class I  could join in with?
