L.O. Can I use effective verb choices? 

Who can remember the different word types we looked at last week?
Verbs,  nouns and adjectives! 

A verb is a  word used to describe an action.

A noun is  a word for the name of something  (a person, place or thing). 

An adjective is a word used to describe a noun.


Look at the pages of the text in the book.
Highlight words that you think are effective. 

The word ........... is effective because............. 

Try and find different examples of verbs (doing/action words). 

Walk is a verb. 
How many verbs can we think of that are better than walk?

What different verbs did you find in the text? 

Can you use a thesaurus to find better words for these verbs?
