Inference
'In an earthy burrow at the end of a very long lane lived a plain little grey worm'.
1. How do the descriptions show that Hetty might be considered boring?

'Hetty saw a small light dancing in the dark wood'.
2. What does the word 'dancing' suggest about the glow-worms?  Think about what you have to do when you dance.

'Hetty said nothing.  But she kept watching the lovely little lights between the trees until it danced away'.
3. What do you think Hetty was thinking of while watching the little lights?
