L.O. Can I understand what makes a happy home? We are going to be exploring our home life and what makes for a happy home. I (Miss Curzon) live at home with my baby daughter. She makes me happy because she is always smiling and laughing and she helps cheer me up when I am having a bad day! She makes me laugh a lot too with her funny personality. She also makes me proud when she learns something new. Lots of us will have different people who live in our homes and it might not be the same as our classmates but that's part of what makes us special and unique. Task 1 Complete the 'Happy Home' activity. You need to write words that make a happy home. For example, label all the things you need to survive and be happy at home (food, drink, bed, warmth, care, love, be looked after, clothes). Every child has the right to all of these things and it's not the materialistic things like toys and devices that are important. Task 2 Answer the questions below. 1. Why are people in our homes important and what do they do for us? 2. What would happen if they stopped doing those things? 3. How would you feel? Reflection It is important that we appreciate who we have at home, are kind to people at home and respect people at home just like we do in school with our friends.
