Hello everyone,
On Monday 11th February, we had a visit from Dave who works at United Utilities. He came to visit us as we are currently learning about water for our Geography topic 'On Tap'. We looked at the Water Cycle and its different stages, we learnt about how water is treated to make sure it is clean and safe for us to drink. Dave told us the process that water goes through to get rid of all the dirt and harmful chemicals and how it is then piped to our schools and home for us to use. We also learnt lots of amazing facts! Did you know that leaving the tap on whilst you brush your teeth can waste up to 6 liters of water per minute? We also learnt about how we can save water such as having a shower instead of a bath and using water butts to collect rain water to water our plants. We even got some freebies such as an egg timer so we can time ourselves brushing our teeth and remind us to turn the tap off when brushing our teeth to help save water! Have a look at our pictures below to see the fun activities we got up to. Miss Bell. Comments are closed.
