Victorian Entry Point Lesson

Today, children in 4L experienced what it was like to be a Victorian School child.  The teachers and teaching assistants in Year 4 dressed up in Victorian clothes and acted very strict as actual Victorian teachers would do.  The children learnt about:

1. The cruel punishments the children experienced;
2. The lessons that the children would do;
3. How boys and girls would be taught separately;
4. The school equipment;
5. The history of Victorian education.

After this, the children wrote a fact sheet describing Victorian schools.  Here are some photos of our fascinating but scary morning:
