The festival events will be hosted on Puffin’s YouTube channel at 10:30 and 3:30. They will include writing masterclasses, drawing classes and creative challenges set by famous artists and illustrators. Have a look at the schedule below. I've also added the event pack as a file if you wish you print this off and complete the activities but you don't need this for the videos. You will be set a challenge during each video so have your pens, paper and imagination ready!

This week we will be following the Oak National Academy - Home Learning page. Please follow the links and complete today's lesson. This week the home learning for Year 4 is Solving measures and money problems. Please complete Lesson 11 - Weight - Two Point Seven! Don't forget if this is too tricky, you can try the Year 3 'Fraction Lesson 11-' work here and the Year 2 'Shape Lesson 11' work here. 1.00- Reading Whilst it is super important that you read books yourself. It is also as important that you listen to books being read to you. This week we will be listening to different authors reading their books aloud and who knows, you may even enjoy the extract that much that you buy the book to finish yourself! If you are in 4C's class you will recognise this book as the book Miss Bell was reading before we started learning from home. Listen to Tom Fletcher reading an extract of his book The Creakers. 1.30- Wider Curriculum Have a go at this Geography lesson on Biomes. We looked at Biomes when we did our Rainforest topic. Many of you may have heard about the Anti-Racism protests that have been happening across the world over the past 2 weeks. You may be unsure of why they are happening and what they mean , so here is some information to help you understand.
Why are there protests? The protests are a response to the recent death of George Floyd in America. George Floyd was a Black man who died after being held by police on 25th May. What happened to him has again raised the issue of racism in American society and the discrimination that many African-American communities feel they face in the US, particularly when it comes to the police. What does Black Lives Matter mean? Black Lives Matter is the name for the anti-racism movement that raises awareness to the discrimination that Black people face everyday across the world. This may be to fight for the unfair treatment from police or to gain equal rights in jobs and education. Saying Black Lives Matter does not mean other lives do not. What is discrimination? Discrimination is unfair treatment of one particular person or group of people. Usually the different treatment is because of the person’s:

We hope you have had a lovely two week break from school work. Today is World Ocean Day so our timetable will be a little different than usual as we are going to spend the day completing interactive activities related to this celebration. We are going to be following the timetable on World Ocean Day.School and join in with all the different activities they will be hosting which include; live ocean films, science lessons, music performances, yoga, breath-work, storytelling, craft work and much more! So why not dress in something blue and get ready for this fun filled day! 9.00am - World Ocean Day Kick-Off Join us with Lizzie Daly to get the day kicked off! We will learn how every second breath comes from the ocean via an animation, some Ocean breathing and movement exercise with Richie Norton and hear from others, including Pulau School in Pitcairn, celebrating World Ocean Day around the world! 9.30am - Rockpool Ramble at the National Marine Aquarium Join NMA live from their fantastic Aquarium facility with a spot of rockpooling and exploring the Plymouth Sound zone. Ask questions and learn about the amazing animals that live in and around their local waters. 10.00am - Learn How To Breathe Like A Dolphin Sara Campbell will be hosting an amazing workshop teaching us how to connect with our inner dolphin and learning how freedivers, big wave surfers & underwater photographers have learned the art of breathing to help them do what they do in the ocean. 10.30am - Ocean Learning Zone Have a look at the different learning activities from a live Q&A with marine experts to joining a free-diver who talks about the importance of Sharks in the Ocean. 1.00pm - Ocean Creative Zone Here are some great creative ideas for you to try at home! You can choose to either create your own ocean story, try some sea inspired yoga, join famous authors as they read their ocean inspired stories or even create your own underwater sea creature with a famous street artist called Midnight! And it doesn't stop there! If you enjoyed these activities and would like to take part in more... 4.00pm - Songs For The Ocean Get on your feet as an amazing lineup of brilliant music artists and ocean advocates sing their songs for the ocean! 6.00pm- Films for The Ocean Sit back and relax with our final act for the day. A series of awe inspiring short films about extraordinary ocean stories courtesy of the Ocean Film Festival. We would love to see the work you produce from celebrating this important day!
