Every day this week there will be a new English activity added to this blog post for you to complete at home. Thursday 26th March 2020 Mrs Pearce woke up this morning and look what she found in her living room! A huge, scary tiger! 🐯 Maybe it has eaten Mr Pearce for breakfast?
Today's English activity is to use your imagination to answer the following questions. Remember to use your Year 2 writing targets!

We look forward to seeing your amazing ideas! 🐅 Wednesday 25th March 2020 Today we are going to use Colourful Semantics to write sentences from picture prompts. We've used Colourful Semantics lots in school - maybe you can explain to your parents what each part means?   Example: The man is eating a sandwich in the park.  Example: On Monday the man eats a tasty sandwich in the park.  Example: On Monday the man eats a tasty sandwich in the park because he is hungry. Who? - Who can you see? What doing? - What are they doing? What? - What are they using? Where? - Where are they ? When? - When is it happening - morning, night, Wednesday, in winter? What's it like? - Use adjectives to describe. Why ? - Why are they doing it - because... Tuesday 24th March 2020  Mild: Grandma Bird wears a purple cardigan and she has small, round glasses on her face. Medium: Grandma Bird (xBerdx) doesn't spend time with Noi because she is always busy knitting huge, itchy blankets or she is meditating in the garden. Hot: Although Grandma is elderly and frail, her favourite activity is to peacefully meditate in the garden. When she isn't meditating Grandma Bird spends her day eagerly exploring the island. What a busy lady! What does Grandma Bird do when Noi goes home? Monday 23rd March 2020 Familiarise yourself with the Grandma Bird story here.  Write a character description for Grandma Bird. Challenge yourself to use words from the vocabulary bulls eye.  Mild: Grandma Bird wears a purple cardigan and she has small, round glasses on her face.
Medium: Grandma Bird doesn't spend time with Noi because she is always busy knitting huge, itchy blankets. Hot: Grandma Bird doesn't spend time with Noi because she spends her time calmly meditating in the boiling hot sun. When you learn at school you earn house points for your super work. Miss Edwards and Mrs Pearce think you should earn them for learning at home too! We will be rewarding dojos for all your home learning. We will be announcing the winner for who achieves the most dojos in each class every Friday. Can you achieve the most dojos? Also, Mrs Pearce will be hosting a weekly quiz on Kahoot. Each quiz will be linked to learning we have done in class. Here is this weeks quiz is about The Great Fire of London! Please use your first name to access the quiz so we know who has taken part. Who can achieve the highest score? Children with the three highest scores will be announced on the blog next Monday! This is a great way to keep active in your own living room - even we'll be joining in!  These are your spellings for this week! Can you read them? Can you spell them? Can you use them in a sentence? Can you find the word meaning in a dictionary (Kids Online Dictionary).  Here is a suggested timetable for your time at home. Have fun and continue learning!
