Literacy activity We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s task. Today we would like you make a shop! Mrs Kendall's little girl has been loving putting her toy food with her kitchen and till to make a shop. If you can send me your pictures I will add some of Phoebe for you to look at tomorrow. With your families help, can you have a look in your cupboards and find some things that you could sell? It doesn’t have to be food, you could sell some of your toys! Maybe you could sell some of your brother’s or sister’s! Can you write any labels for the items that you are going to sell? How much will you charge for your items? Are you going to be the shop keeper? Can you write a shopping list? Maths activity Can you find: 10 plastic items, 1 item made of paper, 2 items made of wood and 1 made of glass? How many items have you found altogether? How did you work it out? Which is the biggest item? Which is the smallest item? Which is the heaviest item? Which is the lightest? Are any of the items electronic? Can you draw a picture of all your items and try and write the numeral next to each item? Please send a picture to your teacher. Literacy Today I am going to set you a listening challenge. Click on the link and listen to the different bird sounds. Have you heard any of these birds whilst you have been outside? What do they sound like? Are they squeaky, sharp, shrill? Can you copy the sounds? Keep looking and listening whilst outside and see if you can spot any of the birds. This week’s challenge will strengthen your vocabulary, attention and listening skills as well as developing your auditory (listening) memory. Shopping Game You will need the following items to play the game.
How to play Ask your grown up to set the items out on a table. Your grown is going to ask you to buy some items from the shop. They will start by asking you to go and buy 2 items. Next time you go shopping your grown up will ask you to buy 3 items, then 4 items and 5 items. Remember to put your shopping in your bag. Before you take your shopping out, tell your grown up what you have bought. Examples- I need an apple and some crisp (2 items). I need a doll, toothpaste and biscuits (3 items). I need a carrot, teddy, banana and some soap (4 items). I need a ball, book, an apple, toothbrush and crisp (5 items). Top tips

So lets try some of these over the Easter week. 1. Make a paper aeroplane and see how far it will fly, keep trying to see if you can get it fly the further each time. 2. Keep a balloon in the air. How many times can you hit the balloon to keep it up? 3. Make a plane on string and get it to move across a large space. 4. Blow some bubbles and try to pop more each time but you can only use one finger. Miss Syme has a special message to see if you can learn something new over the holidays. Literacy - Easter activity Today’s task is to make a Spring/Easter jar. If you are able to, can you go outside and find things to put in it? Twigs or fallen petals from flowers, grass etc. This is one that I have started. I am going to have lots of conversations with my family about the things that we collected. Can you do the same? What is your favourite? Why? How many different things did you find? Where did you go? Email us your pictures, you could be Star of the Week! Maths Challenge Today we are going to look at what you do during the day and when you do it. Can you think of what you do first in the morning? What do you do after that? What comes next? Finally you do you? Do we eat our tea in the morning? Do we put on our pyjamas in the morning? Do we eat our breakfast at night? Today I’d like you to get your mum, dad or sibling to help you fold a piece of paper into 8 sections. Then I would like you draw what you do in order during the day. I have drawn my own example. Literacy game Today’s task is the Hot and Cold game. For this game you will need to choose something that you can hide, for example a remote control. A family member hides the remote control, the rest of the family have to find it, asking questions as they move around the room trying to find the item. Whoever has hidden the item gives the rest of the family clues, so if you ask “is the remote control near the television?” whoever is on can say “hot” if it’s true or “cold” if they are incorrect. Have fun!!! Maths activity Ring ring, ring, ring Today we are going to make our own mobile phones. I am using an old cardboard box and cutting out a rectangle shaped phone. You can trace around one if you like. I then drew circles for my buttons Have a look at my mobile phone. The numerals are 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and a 0 There is also a * and a #. Lastly there is a green mobile phone icon. How many circle buttons have you drawn? Challenge: Try and learn the mobile number of someone that you live with. How many numerals are there in a mobile number? Hello everyone, This week we have 2 challenges. The first challenge will strengthen your attention and listening skills as well as developing your understanding of action words (verbs). Dance and Freeze You need to dance when the music’s on and freeze when it stops. It’s as simple as that. Top tips 1. Watch the video so you know what to do. 2. Make sure there are no obstacles in your way. 3. Follow the animal characters instructions. 4. Remember that ‘freeze’ means ‘stop’. The ‘Alien Game’ will require a grown up to print off the resources These game will help you learn to name things and put them into groups. These are important skills for building vocabulary.. Teddy Game (Family Game) You will need 5 teddies The teddies like to collect things. Can you help them? The first teddy likes to collect toy animals. The second teddy likes to collect food. The third teddy likes to collect clothes. The fourth teddy likes to collect kitchen utensils. The fifth teddy likes to collect flowers.
