Hello Year 5 children,
For the last day of Spring term, I would like you to let your imaginations run wild and do some creative writing! I’d like you to write a setting description for the picture below. Make sure you use detailed description, which will involve using words such as adjectives and adverbs. For this short write, I don’t want you to worry about writing targets but it may help to use complex sentences, similes and metaphors to make your writing more interesting. Above all, relax and enjoy it! Either write your descriptions in the comment box below or e-mail your writing to the usual e-mail addresses:
firstname.lastname@example.org (for Mr Ahmed-Swift)
email@example.com (for Mr Tait)
This is my effort so far:

Lush vines grabbed onto the side of the castle walls and faint, alluring voices could be heard in the castle grounds. This was a magical world. A world of fantastic fairies, greedy goblins, odious ogres and tiny heroes. The grand, main door of the magnificent castle slowly creaked open…
Here you can learn about the learning of Year 5.
