Reception's Blog...

Terrific Tuesday

21/4/2020

Today is Tuesday and I am sure it will be a terrific day.  We have planned some more activities that you will be able to enjoy.

Some activities for the day to keep you busy...
So at 9am you can start the day with some exercise with Joe Wicks.  Just click here to get moving.  Or don't forget to try Andy's Wild Workout and let us know which one you prefer by commenting on the blog.

It is super important for you to keep refreshing your phonic knowledge or even learning some new sounds as this will help you with your reading and writing.  To watch today's session click   here.
9:30am or 12:30pm  - Set 1 (all reception and nursery)
10am or 1pm - Set 2 (most reception)

Also log in to your Bug Club to read one of your books.

We thought you could try some live animal viewing again today to see if you can see any different animals.  If you would like to  look at the animals in Edinburgh Zoo follow   this link  and you can go live to the cameras.  Let us know in the comments below if you spot an animal.

Literacy activity
We hope you enjoyed yesterday’s task.
Today we would like you make a shop!  Mrs Kendall's little girl has been loving putting her toy food with her kitchen and till to make a shop.   If you can send me your pictures I will add some of Phoebe for you to look at tomorrow.

With your families help, can you have a look in your cupboards and find some things that you could sell?
It doesn’t have to be food, you could sell some of your toys! Maybe you could sell some of your brother’s or sister’s!
Can you write any labels for the items that you are going to sell?
How much will you charge for your items?
Are you going to be the shop keeper?
Can you write a shopping list?

Maths activity
Can you find:
10 plastic items, 1 item made of paper, 2 items made of wood and 1 made of glass?
How many items have you found altogether? How did you work it out?
Which is the biggest item?
Which is the smallest item?
Which is the heaviest item?
Which is the lightest?
Are any of the items electronic?
Can you draw a picture of all your items and try and write the numeral next to each item? Please send a picture to your teacher.
